We at Lightening the Load, are an experienced, professional and dedicated team who offer tailor made services to give peace of mind. We support people aged 60 and over (including those with early and mid- stage dementias) as well as their carers and family members where appropriate.
The aim of our service is to support and help others to put some meaning and purpose back into their lives, reduce loneliness and encourage independence, in order that people can live their BEST life possible in their own homes.
"Dad was admitted to hospital 5 weeks ago and was, deteriorating rapidly missing the home he was born and raised in and still lives in today at age 90. We were racking our brains what to do Wednesdays and Thursdays as my sister and I work and were scared of him going on his routine pm walk which he wasn't strong enough to do. Lightening the Load picked up the slack literally. Lightening the Load have played cards and dominoes with dad, they have a laugh with him and now he is going to be at a more suitable time of 8.45 pm. Before, due to boredom, he was going to bed at 5 pm. Thank you for relieving some pressure and for your staff being well suited to such a profession."
